WHERE TO STAY IN GAY CANCUN MEXICO

Located in the Hotel Zone, this adults-only and gay-friendly resort is the perfect choice for those seeking a luxurious stay in Cancun. Playa Delfines is probably the most popular among LGBTQ visitors, although it’s not specifically a gay beach.

Or continue south from Playa Del Carmen, along the Riviera Maya resort strip, to Tulum, where you’ll find the picturesque ruins of a walled Maya seaport set off by the cool blue Caribbean. With entertainment or parties every night, you’ll never be bored at Temptation.

This hotel has one of Cancun’s longest pools as well as an in-house nightclub.

Admire the region’s traditional folk dances, too – Maya culture isn’t relegated to the ruins!

If you aren’t afraid to get wet and messy, try the Underwater Museum or test your hand at a chocolate-making workshop. We are in love with Latin American culture but can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Is Cancun safe for LGBTQ+ travelers?

Yes!

Cancun is generally safe for LGBTQ+ travelers, especially in the Hotel Zone. No one wants to be sick on vacation, and bottled water is the way to go.

What time of year do I go?

The best time to visit Cancun is between November and April. During the off-season, this part of Mexico struggles with high amounts of seaweed which, will have a significant impact on the local beaches.

How to get around Cancun?

We’re both extroverts and love meeting new people everywhere we travel. Resorts, beaches, and major attractions are generally safe and inclusive for LGBTQ+ travelers.

What's the best way to get around?

  • Airport Transfers: We recommend booking a private transfer in advance, as taxis from the airport can be overpriced.
  • Hotel Zone: If you’re staying in the Hotel Zone, most attractions and restaurants are accessible by bus or taxi.

There is also a decent selection of local restaurants and cafes with free wifi so that you can be productive in between beach visits and sunset cocktails.

    Can you drink the water?

In recent years the tap water quality in the Cancun Hotel Zone has improved considerably, and it’s fine to use it for brushing teeth, making coffee, or washing fruit.

Whether you come to Cancún to party all weekend, experience the Yucatan Peninsula’s enduring Maya culture, or bask on its sunlit beaches, you should make this trip at least once in your life.

You may remember very little (we’re not judging) but you’ll regret nothing!
