His work day started at 3 a.m. Getting there took a little bit of luck — like getting into the only college he applied to (Seton Hall) and later landing the only internship he pursued.

“I’ve been really very fortunate throughout my entire career,” he said, underlining that he always seemed to be in the right place at the right time with access to great mentors and paths toward opportunities that helped him develop his skills.

But he also worked hard.

(with bedtimes at 6 p.m.) has taken a toll.

Donovan doesn’t know what he’s going to do next, but his next accolade is likely to be a world record. It's enabled me to love the people that I've loved and have the life that I've had. More by Lauren Rowello

The Good Morning America anchor resumed his journey in faith following the death of Pope Francis and being inspired by the pontiff's "legacy of inclusivity."

Gio Benitez, an openly gay news anchor known for his work on Good Morning America, World News Tonight and 20/20, has joined the Catholic Church and reaffirmed his faith.

Although they cover a broad variety of news topics for PGN, they're most passionate about opportunities to write about mental... I've only made these decisions as a gay person.

"I don't know what it would be like to be doing this show as a straight person and make different editorial decisions, but I feel like gay rights issues get considered like all others."

Steve Kornacki

The face of election coverage in the United States, NBC News political commentator and data analyst Steve has established a name for himself both on-screen and off, thanks to his work as a writer for publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, The New York Times, The Daily Beast, and more.

In fact, it was through one of his columns that he made his sexuality public knowledge, coming out as gay in 2011 in Salon with a personal op-ed, writing: "My life can finally make sense to the people who matter to me.

"This isn't the start of some brand-new life," he said of his coming out journey.

In secret, that nagging question persisted: if God created me, how could he not love me?" The question followed him into his young adulthood as he "went on to study religion in college, searching for proof of God. But maybe I was just searching for proof of God’s love."

The news personality then shared how he found God’s love at St. Paul's, saying that during his first visit in May, Pastor Eric Andrews "@andrewscp preached on three simple words spoken by Christ: Love.

The 40-year-old explained, "Six months ago, the death of a humble pope unexpectedly took me on a journey that was a lifetime in the making."

Donovan — who hails from Staten Island — initially worked as a writer and as a news producer, landing gigs in North Jersey and New York.

He continued to work as a flight attendant — the job that got him through college — because journalism didn’t pay well enough on its own.

'When we’re able to love and love freely and openly -- and love ourselves as well -- we are a long ways down the road to fulfilling the Kingdom of God.'"

Benitez found the answer to his question, writing, "It turns out proof of God’s love wasn’t in the books or lecture halls, or even the amount of years I spent studying." He furthered,  "That divine love was in me all along, always whispering guidance, gently reaching out with arms wide open, and like Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam, patiently waiting for me to reach back out and embrace the greatest mystery."

Speaking at the event Further with Fordin 2014, Jenna said of coming out: "I know every little move I've made along my windy way, running around with boys at the grade school, playing sports in high school, covering sports when a few women were doing it, and finally announcing my pregnancy and coming out on national TV, all of that, all of that, has been my way of saying, what gender roles?"
