Many are familiar with Rosaria Butterfield’s radical conversion from an affirming lesbian to a chaste Christian.

Dear Lord,
In this time of Gay Pride, we lift up our voices in prayer for equality and freedom.
Anxiety, depression, and suicide risk may accompany these experiences as well. By inviting the unbelieving gay man or trans woman over to your house for a meal, you can be an ambassador for Christ and His church, showing them the kindness that leads to repentance.

But rather than anger or heated arguments, Paul entreats us to pray “in every place” (1 Tim 2:8 ESV).
Where concepts fail us, though, prayer can help us.
Help all our church leaders to show compassion in their ministry.
All loving God, we place all our thoughts and doubts, biases and viewpoints, plans and confusion into your hands. In Romans 1:24-27, Paul clearly considers same-sex sexual activity sin. Use pride flags and symbols as prompts for prayer. May we find healing in our shared experiences and build bridges of understanding and compassion. May we celebrate the diversity of your creation and the beauty of our differences. Amen. Dear Lord, As we gather to celebrate Gay Pride, we ask for your guidance and strength.
